[technical difficulties]
[Pony] Yeah, sorry about that. I don't use facebook all that often.Anyway, I guess we can get straight into the interview questions. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
[+LG+] well i am a 47 year old yes 47 married i have two kids both boys and in fact that's how i got into gaming my oldest son plays xbox.
[Pony]Wow, not the usual CoD demographic! Did you and your family start on xBox and MW3, or is there some history there?
[+LG+] my son started on mw i tried the game and the next day bought an xbox lol. i purchased cod 3 and fell in love with it played it for a year then when waw came out i was addicted , in fact i am still top 100 in cod 3.
[Pony] That's a lot of CoD. Do you have a fancy setup, or is it just you, a CRT, and your opponents?
[+LG+] I have a 65 inch plasma tv and a set of turtle's dx12's if thats what you meant.
[Pony] That's very cool. So does it make a big difference to your playstyle? I know that our guy REALBAUS gets a lot of mileage out of his headset. Speaking of playstyle, do you have a favorite gametype or approach to the game?
[+LG+] the tv makes a huge difference,i prefer all hardcore modes but i love kill confirmed because you can run and gun like crazy in tdm it promotes camping.
[Pony] Rushdown always makes for better killfeeds. So, how about Lethal x Gaming? How did your clan get started?
[+LG+] well i started the clan on waw, i started out with a few friends and we added members as we went along. We really hit our stride when we added Mulder7 and TheBigNative they aded so much to my clan and showed me just how good we could be.We skipped mw2 because we really didnt like the game but we loved black ops.We grew to our largest size on black ops and played 28 clan matches and won everyone which lead us right into mw3 where we have continued to grow and get better as a clan. The one thing about us is we are all friends first xbox comes second and always will.
[Pony] That's a really awesome approach to it. Now, one thing that's made your clan the clan to beat when it comes to KC is that you're all super good, but it also takes a lot of organization. Do you have regular game nights, or more defined roles in your clan, or is just understood that everyone will meet up next Friday and beast?
[+LG+] oh i am a freak about being organized we have a captains meeting monday and thursday nights where i cover what i want done i the clan ops.We practice tuesday and wednesday and most of all we always play together. My job as clan leader never stops i do it all recruiting strategy everything i do get input from my captains on everything we do.
[Pony] That sounds like a ton of work! Now, I've raised this topic with Pakman3000, who says that even organizing military guys is like herding cats when it comes to CoD; what are the general demographics for LxG? Is it a lot of older guys like yourself, or a bunch of young hotshots?
[+LG+] we have a mix i am by far the oldest most members are between 19 and 30 we are a mature group who plays together to win and because we have played together so long we know where everyone is going to be and on what maps it really amazing how well we play together.
[Pony] Friendship really is magic. So at this time, is it a lot of your real life buddies, or mostly people you've met online? Have you ever done a real life meetup?
[+LG+] at this time its mostly online friends but last year me and the family went to florida and met up with a bunch of members at Busch Gardens and had a blast , i know each and every members story there wife's name and half of there kids lol i also send gifts when kids are born this is not just my clan they are my extended family.
[Pony] No joke, this is way more touching than I expected from an interview about Call of Duty. So everyone knows how good you guys are at the games Beachhead throws at us; are there any that your clan plays on their own? For comparison, we have a thing we call 6 gallon jugs, where we get six recon juggernauts and run around being silly. The Wicked Elite has a slightly more difficult game they play where they all get MOABs in one game. Anything similar in awesomeness or silliness from Lethal x Gaming?
[+LG+] we just get together and play some infected with crazy classes and laugh it relieves the stress of clan ops lol.
[Pony] So, overall, what would you say is the toughest thing about leading Lethal x Gaming?
[+LG+] For me it would be having to telling a member he is out of the clan, i don't have to do it often but when i do it really hurts.I wish elite gave us more than 100 members.
[Pony] I was going to follow that up with the most rewarding thing, but you covered that pretty well already. So, instead, which is your favorite pony? Here's a cheat sheet if you need one: http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Characters.
[+LG+] oh its spike lol for sure. no sheet needed.
[Pony] Awesome. Finally, while I'm going to try to get interviews with some other clan leaders, are there any members of LxG who you think might be interested in talking with us?
[+LG+] Yes winner take all and the bignative24.
[Pony] Thanks so much for your time! This will be up on http://mlpcod.blogspot.com as soon as I have it formatted.
[+LG+] thank you very much. have a great day
So, there you have it! Lethal x Gaming are awesome sports, awesome players, and all around pretty awesome guys. Stay tuned for more interviews from anyone I can get to talk to me. :3
Oh man, that's awesome! It does make me wanna slow down our recruiting and just get to know some of our bronies better.
ReplyDeleteMy biggest question for the leader of Lethal x Gaming - Type 95: Great gun or THE GREATEST gun?
Surely you mean MP7 good sir as that's the only gun you use anymore!!
DeleteSo disappoint...
DeleteWow, I knew these guys were super classy and sportsmanlike, but this is really something special. Before we met the guys from Lethal x Gaming, I had assumed that us playing to win all the time and having tons of fun were sorta incompatible, but that certainly doesn't seem to be the case. I guess I need to start working harder to make sure we all get together more often! You guys are awesome role models, and I hope you don't mind if we shamelessly bite your style regarding clan meetings and such. Best of luck to you guys, and thanks for chatting with us!
