Black Ops 2

Well today is the day that the reveal for Black Ops 2 came out and it looks like the suspicions around the internet were true.  Black Ops 2 will be set in the future, more specifically around 2025. Here is the trailer below. Enjoy!

I'm pretty excited to see how this game turns out.  In my eyes, Treyarch has always been the better developer because they like to innovate their games.  So let's get ready to rock rock that [Pony] on  November 13!

What are your thoughts on Black Ops 2?  Let me known in the comments section.

  1. My hope is that the game will be SO good, that the world will see how much better Treyarch is than Infinity Ward. A world court will convene and deem the leaders of Treyarch to be war criminals. After a summary military trial they will be deported and never allowed to make another game. Then we'll all play Blops 2 and enjoy our robot attack dogs.

  2. This is a giant leap in the cod series that they might need. All of it's up in the air, but I'll give it a chance. But it's 2025, and we still use horses? Haha

  3. I always liked the modern combat games more than the historical ones. This does concern me b/c it looks like basically COD stole the story from MGS4. I'm optimistic that it'll basically just be a blast to play and no one will give a shit about the story or background!

  4. The horses are for the level set in 1980s Afghanistan.

    1. Ohhhh, know that makes a whole lot of since. Is that the only flashback level?

    2. Campaign takes place over two time periods: cold war era and 2025 (2nd cold war). Choices that you make in the past will influence what happens in the future.

  5. Kotaku has a really nice review of what they know. My favorite part: they let you choose side missions which apparently you play as a random, unnamed soldier. Which side missions you pick and whether you survive the missions has effects on the main plot.

  6. I really want the emblem generator back so I can immediately know who is a fellow brony and who is a horrible racist BEFORE getting buried in fan/hate mail.

    1. In fact, it was such a useful shibboleth that I still use it when I look at people's Elite profile to see if they get a clan invite.

    2. I want it back, too, but I dunno if they'll do it, given how much idiotic shit they had to put up with in the first Black Ops.

  7. You are only the second person I've ever heard use the word "shibboleth". The first was Warrrrrrrgarbl.

    2. I know (and use) the word because of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shibboleth_(computer_security)

  8. Do you know the origin of the word? I had a Psych professor who found it fascinating and would discuss it with me a lot

  9. Glad to see someone agree's with me when it comes to Treyarch making the better Call of Duty games. They refine what IW does in addition to innovating and trying something new =)
